International Association of Administrative Professionals
Cornhusker Chapter, Lincoln, Nebraska

Administrative Professionals Day

This committee coordinates the APD luncheon held in April every year.  It is a  committee that needs several dedicated, hardworking members to make the event successful.  It is great for those who love to plan events.

By-Laws

This area can usually be handled by one person.  It is important to be aware of parliamentary procedures and the by-laws.

Certification/Scholarship

This area will involve getting the word out about the CPS/CAP
certification program to members and the community, coordinating the scholarship program, and coordinating (not necessarily leading) the chapter study group for the exams.

Historian

This is the ideal spot for someone who likes to keep track of events with pictures and simple text.  A scrapbookers dream come true!  Keep a scrapbook of the year’s events, something to remind us of where we’ve been.

Membership/Mentoring/Student Chapter

The membership committee is where all the data-keeping is done for our chapter and may also conduct a “membership drive”.  This committee will also be the primary “go to” for oversight of the student chapter as well as the mentoring
program for chapter members and students.  Organization is key for this group.

Newsletter

These responsibilities can easily be handled by one who likes to write and be creative.  Creates the monthly newsletter with direction from the President, will assist any committee with necessary publicity coordination .

Program & Dinner/Hospitality

This is a great spot for those who like to be in the lime-light!  A very important committee that coordinates the monthly meetings and dinner arrangements including speakers.  Creativity and organization skills a must.  This committee
will also provide the hospitality packets for guests and greet at the meetings.

Publicity (ad hoc)

The focus of this team is to get our name out to the public!!  This committee will send news releases to area media for publication.

Ways & Means

A crucial committee for the success of the chapter.  Creating and coordinating the fundraising functions, making it fun and profitable, the sky is the limit.  A great place to really think “outside the box”.  Will also coordinate the community service projects throughout the year.
